You've reached a fansite for the rising SNL star, also known for her roles in Walk Hard, The Brothers Solomon, and Knocked Up.
Feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or picture donations, but please remember I am not Kristen. Please read the disclaimer, and visit her official site at KristenWiig.com
Entertainment Weekly reports Kristen's in talks to star with Mila Kunis and Jason Bateman in a new film by Mike Judge (Office Space), Extract "which centers on a flower-extract plant owner (played by Jason Bateman) who's facing a stream of bad luck, including workplace issues and a cheating wife." Kristen's in negotiations to play the wife. (Thanks Kenneth!)
Global Warming
Strike.TV launches this summer, and offers a crop of projects from TV and movie writers all over the board, who channeled their creativity into new waters during the writer's strike. Reuters.
Here's a teaser of the project, which features Kristen briefly.
And thanks to NewTeevee.com, here's a behind-the-scenes documentary of the projects, which Kristen is also in briefly. It offers a look at the launched version of the site, which features Global Warming, Kristen's project, prominently. Writer Sheryl Zohn describes the movie as "a short romantic comedy about an American woman and an Indian man who fall in love over the Internet."
Thanks to Stefanie and Ken for sending this in: Kristen's been added to the cast of Whip It!, Drew Barrymore's film based on the young adult novel Derby Girl. Ellen Page is in the lead role, as Bliss, a 16 year old transplant to a new city, who takes up roller derby. Kristen's "Malice in Wonderland" (I love it!), Bliss' rowdy mentor in derbying.
Filming starts in July in Michigan and Texas. Other actresses cast: Marcia Gay Harden, Juliette Lewis, Zoe Bell and Drew Barrymore.
I'll have to read this since I love YA fiction and my sister in law is on a derby. Since I review children's and teen books anyhow, I'll probably post a link to a review for this eventually and a brief description of Kristen's role.
Kathy Remski, a partner with Real Style in Birmingham, said her company is looking for "thousands'' of local people to fill in various roles. Real Style received a contract from Flower Films to seek out extras.
"We are looking for individuals from 18 to 50, all walks of life, from the most eccentric to punk rockers to roller derby fans to rock 'n' roll people,'' Remski said. "We want expressive individuals. If somebody has pink hair, bring it on.''
Anyone interested should e-mail info@realstyleonline.com. Include the subject line: "Whip It Extras.''
The body of the e-mail should include the person's picture, a contact number and a date of birth. Remski said the picture is "essential'' in determining who gets a call. Extras receive a nominal fee, Remski said.
Remski said the extras will be used from July 30 to Aug. 13. Casting calls will be set up in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti as early as next week.
"There are long days, but you are part of filming history,'' Remski said. Miller said some shooting locations have not yet been decided.
"There could be scenes in Saline, Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti,'' Miller said. "There are plans on shooting some things in that general area.''
He said the actual roller derby track used in the movie is in place in Detroit, where most of the movie will be shot.
Not much to update with - with SNL in reruns, there's little news. Plus I started my new job (which I love and which gives me new appreciation for call center clerks - be nice to them!). Still working on a new layout. My host bought me kristen-wiig.com which you can also use to get to the site. Remember the hyphen or else you'll go to her Official site.
Since she was originally in the film, then cut out, I'm sharing some news Movieweb has of Forgetting Sarah Marshall DVD features.

Also in regards to Kristen and gossip blogs.. I don't publish any paparazzi photos on my site or mention speculation... Moving on.
I'll be updating the gallery with a lot in the next few days - at least that'll be some updates! Hopefully get a bunch of Walk Hard pictures and also some event pictures I've obtained lately.
Okay, now it seems like Adventureland might be getting a 2008 release after all. IMDB's reporting the movie will open October 10 in Venezuela, so maybe a US release isn't far before.
Oh, and thank you to the people who send me nice comments about the site. I'm thrilled you like it!
Nice list of updates here to make up for my absence...
Videos are back up. Give me a while to put up the newer stuff. Here's an older sketch Wheel of Fortune, with Tom Hanks suffering the idiocy of Fred, Amy, and Kristen.
I added 5 photos of the SNL on Strike! show. I guess you could call that an exclusive.
Despite only given about a dozen episodes, this year Wiig established herself as far and away the best performer on "Saturday Night Live" and perhaps (sorry, Gilda) its best female cast member of all time. It seems Wiig has a character well that simply cannot be run dry. Whether she's a cougar, an A-hole, the hilarious Penelope, or her pitch-perfect Suze Orman, Wiig slides into the role completely without a trace of herself apparent. She's a true chameleon less in the mold of Dana Carvey or Darrell Hammond and more like a Phil Hartman - a character performer who finds a newness in each new creation. Read more
Forgetting Sarah Marshall arrives on DVD September 30. As most Apatow movies go, it will be available in an one disc and three disc edition. Kristen's cut scene is bound to be among the extras. source
It seems Adventureland has been postponed till 2009. I guess they didn't want to compete with summer blockbusters Narnia, Iron Man, etc.
The Emmy ballots are out and the SNL gang are all under Best Supporting Actor or Actress in a Comedy Series, rather than in the Variety, Music, or Comedy Program category like in the past. So it'll be quite a feat to see any of the SNL cast in the official nominations July 15.
